Coleman was a Lancashire resident born in Blackpool. She was the head girl in the Arnold School, Blackpool and had straight A's at her A levels. When Coleman was asked about her role in Emmerdale she replied that she regrets having not had an experience like the traditional one at university. Coleman participated in a club called In Yer Space at her school. The group performed Crystal Clear in Edinburgh Festival. Along with being awarded a prize for acting, the play she performed was well received. Coleman was given the part in the role of Jasmine Thomas at Emmerdale while trying out for drama classes in 2005. Coleman was nominated in 2007 for two prizes. In 2007 Coleman was nominated for two awards, the British Soap Awards as the most promising newcomer and the National Television Awards as the most Popular. Coleman was awarded nominations for Best Actress, Sexiest Woman and for the Best Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards 2009. Coleman got a nomination in the category of Best Actress from the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat, the producer of Doctor Who confirmed in a 21st March press conference on the show that Coleman will be Matt Smith's partner following the departure of Karen Gillan left. Moffat stated that he picked Coleman to be the companion due to her ability to be the best companion for Smith. Also, Moffat noted that she spoke faster than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She has been in the industry of entertainment since 1987. However, she is better recognized for her TV shows as opposed to films. Eva has appeared in a number of television parts, however Dr. Maria Santos from All My Children as well as Detective Natalia Boavistas from CSI Miami have stood out. The role that she first appeared on television earned two Daytime Emmy nominations, and helped her develop the love of music in her. Eva is an entrepreneur and also an actor. Her third husband is the father of her daughter.
